Transfer

A transfer moves assets from a vault to another vault or to an external address. You choose the destination type during the movement wizard.

#Transfer to an internal vault

An internal transfer moves assets between two vaults within your workspace.

Required role: A role with the Initiate Payment permission to create the movement, or the Approve Payment permission to sign it.

Required permissions: PAYMENT_INIT to initiate, PAYMENT_APPROVE to sign.

Prerequisites: The source vault must hold sufficient balance of the asset. The destination vault must exist.

  1. Navigate to the Movements page.
  2. Select Create Movement.
  3. Movement Type. Select Transfer.
  4. Source & Destination. Select the source vault. Set the destination to an internal vault and select the destination vault.
  5. Amount & Asset. Select the asset. Enter the amount. Optionally add a description. Set the priority.
  6. Review & Submit. Verify the summary, policy checks, and required signatures. Select Submit Movement.

#Transfer to an external address

An external transfer sends assets from a vault to an address outside your workspace.

Required role: A role with the Initiate Payment permission to create the movement, or the Approve Payment permission to sign it.

Required permissions: PAYMENT_INIT to initiate, PAYMENT_APPROVE to sign.

Prerequisites: The source vault must hold sufficient balance. The destination address must be whitelisted for the token you are sending.

  1. Navigate to the Movements page.
  2. Select Create Movement.
  3. Movement Type. Select Transfer.
  4. Source & Destination. Select the source vault. Set the destination to an external address, then select the address. Only addresses whitelisted for the selected token are available. To approve a new destination, add it to the token's whitelist first. See Managing whitelisted addresses.
  5. Amount & Asset. Select the asset. Enter the amount. Optionally add a description. Set the priority.
  6. Review & Submit. Verify the summary, policy checks, and required signatures. Select Submit Movement.

On-chain irreversibility

An external transfer, once broadcast, cannot be reversed. Verify the destination address and amount on the review screen before you submit.
